At INDIE Lab, we study how differences in brain and cognitive functioning drive individual differences in behaviour. By understanding causal pathways, we can better design support for children who might need it, for example, those with neurodevelopmental conditions. We seek to be an inclusive and collaborative lab that works across different fields and with a variety of contributors, including those from neurodivergent and/or stakeholder communities.
We take a multi-modal approach to research, utilising a variety of techniques such as EEG, eye-tracking, computerized behavioural tasks and virtual reality technology. We combine this deep phenotyping with statistical methods than can handle complex longitudinal data. See our Research Projects page to learn more about our ongoing and past projects.
Our research is particularly focused on mechanisms relevant to neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism and ADHD. We hope by better understanding these neurocognitive mechanisms, we can support all children to thrive.
